Review: Propel Body & Mind

Dec 30
2009

I guess everyone thinks I’m thirsty. But I do love flavored waters, so when Propel asked me if I’d like to check out some new products and flavors, I was happy to do so.

Propel, a subsidiary of Pepsico, has been in the enhanced-water market for quite awhile. In 2009, they decided to enhance their line. Enter…

Blueberry Pomegranate. Oh, what a lovely flavor this is in every way. This is part of the traditional line of Propel waters enhanced with vitamins C, E and B. I got to try all of the flavors, and truthfully, I am getting really tired of plain old lemon and raspberry flavored waters (although Propel offers those too, if you like the basics). So I was really pleased with this one. It’s not overly tart or super-sweet, just a nicely balanced flavor overall – definitely my pick out of the whole lineup.

Black Cherry. This new flavor is kicking off the Propel Mind line and, in addition to the usual vitamin C, E and B enhancements, also adds choline, an essential nutrient for the brain. Again, I’m pleased with the less-traditional flavor choice here.I don’t know if it did anything for my brain (I only had one bottle) but it was very refreshing with just a pinch of sweet.

Peach Mango. This flavor starts the Propel Body line, and is enhanced with fiber for a healthy diet. The flavor is a bit sweeter than the Black Cherry and Blueberry Pomegranate, so it’s not as much to my personal taste. If you’re a citrus lover, though, you will probably enjoy this. I hope it comes out in more flavors – I never seem to get enough fiber, and this is a pleasant alternative to supplements.

Propel has taken the very smart step of also offering these flavors in powder packets as well as in pre-bottled waters. These are so handy to carry around, and much easier on the environment than the constant plastic-bottle waste we generate. In addition, Propel’s new product packaging this year reduces their plastic content by 33%.

At only 10 calories per bottle, this was another tasty review!

Also? EVERYTHING should come in Blueberry Pomegranate.
